My Classes
I’m excited to begin teaching my classes. I’m holding all of my classes in person at 1220 Main St. Vancouver, WA. (see map). On the 4th floor in the conference room. I will eventually begin online classes, but I haven’t scheduled any yet. Please keep track of this website if you are interested in online classes. Until then: Here is a line-up of what is coming up (please see STORE to sign up for these classes:
Support Your Local Writer: September 21, 2022, 10:00am - 11:30am (1 class, $54)
Everybody needs support, especially writers. A community of like-minded individuals who support each other’s writing life. This class will be everything you need to feed your soul as a writer: support, encouragement, ideas to make your writing better, classes to take to help you become a stronger writer, connections to places where your work may get published, and a lifeline when that white page just looks too white (writer’s block). Come join the class and create your writing community. (My goal is to create a cohesive group that will support each other and will become your ‘Writing Group’)
Start Your Novel: September class: September 23, 2022. 2:00pm - 3:30pm (1 class, $54)
It all begins with an idea. And you want to write that novel but you don’t know where to start. This class will get you on your way. We’ll talk about story structure theories and how other books and movies fall into those structures. We’ll write. We’ll get those juices flowing so you can take it from there and soar! National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is coming and this class will get you ready to finish that novel by the end of November!
Memoir Writing for Publication: A 4-class series beginning September 23, 2022. 4:30pm - 6:00pm (4 classes, $196)
This memoir class will help you take that amazing thing that you did, and create a book for publication. Did you walk the Pacific Crest Trail, Appalachian Trail, and/or the Camino de Santiago in Spain? We will take any hiking experience and write about the processes and life lessons you took from your incredible adventure. Did you go to another country by yourself to study or travel and then learn things that you could never have predicted? We will hone in on those moments of clarity and help you share that with the world. These classes are designed to bring those memories and experiences out so you can write them down in an interesting way. I will also provide you with editing services (extra fee) and publication suggestions (free). You will be glad you wrote your story and others will be excited to be brought along on the journey! This is a 4-class series beginning 9/23/22 and going through 10/14/2022
Write Your Stories: A 4-class series beginning October 6, 2022. 2:00pm - 3:30pm (4 classes, $196)
You have a billion stories in your head, but you don’t know where to start. This class will get you on your way to write, write, write. We’ll talk about story structure theories and how other books and movies fall into those structures. I’ll have at least two writing prompts per day. We’ll share stories and workshop along the way. Through this writing community, you’ll find a supportive team and a strong foundation. Maybe you want to create a book of short stories, maybe a zine, or you want to try to publish your short story on the internet. Whatever your writing goals are, we’ll get you well on your way. This is a 4-class series beginning 10/6/22 and going through 10/27/2022
Start Your Novel: October class: October 12, 2022. 9:30am - 11:00am (1 class, $54)

You’ve had an interesting life and you’ve always wanted to write it down for your family. This is the class that will get you on your way. Each of the 4 classes in this series will give you writing prompts that will spark details hidden inside your memory. What did your cafeteria smell like in grade school? What did it feel like to swing as a child, higher and higher? What path did you take to school as a child? Did you walk? Take a bus? What was that one Christmas or Hanukah gift that you had to have? These classes are designed to bring those memories out so you can write them down in an interesting way. Your family will love that keepsake and treasure it forever. This is a 4-class series beginning 10/19/22 and going through 11/9/22
